Sighted growing in a dry Western garden, Tangerine Beauty caught our attention initially for the bright tomato red blooms and then for the fabulous foliage. Low growing, the leaves on these clumping tulips were wildly wavy and energetic. The fact that these are botanical tulips, rather than hybrids, adds to their appeal because it means they'll come back for many springs, not just a few. If you have a hard to manage sunny dry patch, may we suggest Tangerine Beauty?
Lauren Springer Ogden and Scott Ogden, well known U.S. flower bulb experts, garden designers and authors list Tangerine Beauty as a recommended tulip in several of their many garden books.
Also Tangerine Beauty is a winner across the pond! It has earned the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
