Slender, polished, early blooming and unknown to many gardeners, Tommies are recommended for several reasons. First, the bulbs seems to be less tasty to squirrels and chipmunks than the Dutch crocus bulbs. Second, Tommies produce seeds and often spread over time into beautiful pink or lavender clouds. And finally, because these crocuses flower early, they are among the best of the tiny spring bloomers to tuck into lawns.
