Saddled with a somewhat dated name, there's nothing old fashioned about this peony's looks or it's incredible perfume. You'll find Myrtle Gentry showing up on lists of most fragrant peonies, over and over, whether compiled in 1940 or 2016. The fragrance is like that of a fine tea rose, coaxing you to lean in, and rewarding you when you do. Grow this choice peony for great garden performance and excellent cut flowers.
Myrtle Gentry starts out as a medium pink and lightens to almost white as she matures. The flowers are large, broad and rounded with tiny flecks of deep red to salmon.
