For those gardeners who grow peonies for cutting (are there any who don't?), Moonstone is a must. The blooms are perfectly formed, a whisper soft blush pink, packed with petals and the enhanced with a sweet, delightful scent. Simply ethereal. The bush is sturdy, dense and about 3 feet tall. Blloms are held aloft on strong stems. If you want to make an unforgettable impression (boss, cool neighbor or sweetie) cut a trio of these flowers and share.
You'll find a number of peonies here that have been awarded the Gold Metal by the American Peony Society, the national organization that knows peonies best. This award is bestowed upon one cultivar annually, a variety that demonstrates dependable performance across a wide range of growing sites, good plant habit (stem strength, fullness and attractive foliage throughout the season) and, of course, flower beauty. Moonstone is an American Peony Society Gold Metal Winner. Note: this variety produces smaller than average roots and small eyes. This is normal for Moonstone.
