Gardenia is a peony classic with huge, round blooms opening from the softest pink buds. Outstanding for cutting, strong full plants, beautiful form and a light fragrance. This is an excellent garden peony and is recommended for commercial cut flower production; vigorous, graceful and ready to star in bouquets. Remove all but the center bud on each stem for the absolute biggest flowers or leave all to delivery the hightest bloom count. Produces lots of side buds.
This variety has been an American favorite since 1949 and has won the American Peony Society's Champion Ribbon.
