Rarely found in today's peony offerings, Dr. F. G. Brethour is a must have for fans for full, fluffy white peonies. Bred in 1938 by Hans Sass, a prominent Nebraska peony hybridizer in the 1930s and 40s, this enduring beauty is still prized for both landscape and cut flower use. The bowl-shaped blooms are petal-packed, with a wonderful sweet scent and sturdy stems.
Mid to late flowering Dr. F. G. Brethour produces lots of blooms, typically with 3 to 4 side buds per stem to extend the much-loved peony season. The blooms are pure white, with no red speckles or streaks, making them perfect for weddings.
