Rich, musky, hot and strong, Brown Tempest garlic is not for the faint of heart. Most forceful raw, this variety holds its own in highly flavored dishes with complex seasoning. Brown Tempest is harvested in mid-summer and keeps well through winter, if it doesn't get gobbled up first. For those who love bold garlic flavor, this is one to try.
This hardneck garlic is shipped in 1/2 lb bags, which is enough to plant a 10 foot row. Brown Tempest was brought to this country from Poland in the mid-1980s and has continued to grow in popularity since.
