Like most flower fans, we have to admit to a leaning towards oversized dinner plate dahlias. Sometimes more is, well, more. Wanda's Aurora is new to us, definitely pleasing eye candy and an oh-so-welcome discovery. Lots of wide, full petals with pronounced ribs and shading that eases from coral pink to clear yellow deliver blooms that captivate even from a distance. Expect to be coaxed from the other side of the yard by this seductive gal. This variety is more productive than most of the giants.
Note: we'll be growing this new dahlia in 2019 and if you are too, we're in the market for a better photo. Send us your best - if it wins and we use it, we'll send a $25 gift certificate your way to fund more dahlia fun in 2020.
