The American Dahlia Society's 2016 landslide winner for its category (8-10" flowers, informal decorative), Spartacus blooms a lush, deep red that offers a velvety texture and wide petals that curl slightly at the tips. Flowers are held at a 45 degree angle with petals that sweep backwards; stunning for garden settings. Great form, strong stems and healthy foliage.
For "dinnerplates", we use the American Dahlia Society's "Giant or AA" and "Large or A" classifications which are 10+" and 8-10" respectively.
