The scoop on Dahlia Preference

There are a handful of classic dahlias in our offering; Preference is one. First introduced in the 50's and now very hard to find, this variety still pops up on lists of favorite cutting dahlias. Why? It's a garden diplomat, flowering in a shade that artfully straddles the line between pink and peach. Sensational with deep red, purples and wines. Light and cheery with yellows. Long lasting, semi-cactus blossoms on dark stems are an excellent midsize at 4-5" and festoon 4 to 4 1/2 foot plants.

Why Grow Medium Garden Dahlias?

  • Few flowers offer the color and form diversity of dahlias
  • Grow medium garden dahlias for sumptuous color and lavish cut flowers.
  • Preference has long flower stems, perfect for cutting

Dahlia Preference is lovely mixed with Cornel Brons in an almost monochromatic bouquet that winks, but doesn't shout, for attention. Photos here with Cornel and Cornel Brons are of flowers scooped at a London flower market, where this is still a very popular variety.
