Winning raves far and wide, but still hard to find in the marketplace, Hamari Gold is a huge golden dahlia with a decidedly double flower form. The petals start out pointed and with bronze tones and a coppery center wash. As the flowers mature the color lightens and petal edges and tips develop graceful twists and curls. The shades in Hamari Gold blooms are tailor made for fall arrangements and blend deliciously with the yellows, rusts and gingers of autumn.
For "dinnerplates", we use the American Dahlia Society's "Giant or AA" and "Large or A" classifications which are 10+" and 8-10" respectively.
Dahlia tubers can be saved, divided and shared. Click on the Dahlia Planting Guide button, right, for details and growing tips.
