After growing this variety, it's hard to image not including it in future dahlia beds. Why? It's an oversized beauty with gracefully twisting and curling petals. The plant and purple stems are so strong that there's no flopping. (You still need to stake with these huge blooms to keep the whole plant upright.) A single bloom floated in a bowl makes a glorious centerpiece. And, the clincher has to be the colors - pinks, peaches, coppers, gingers and plums - all in smokey tones and artfully swirled together. Belle of Barmera mixes effortlessly with other shades and adds depths that brights alone can't achieve. Grow it. You'll see what we mean.
