This achimenes blooms with large, almost flat, slightly ruffled purple flowers highlighted with a white and yellow throat festooned with mahogany dots. The pulcherrima plant form is upright making it ideal for windowsills, especially that one in the bathroom where there's only a little morning light and lots of great humidity. Look for purple flowers from early summer through through autumn.
Why achimenes are not more widely grown is a continuing mystery to the horticultural community. We believe it's about trying and seeing for yourself how great these plants are - here's your chance!
